Municipality Čavle is established on 18 April 1993. The day of the municipality is celebrated on May 1 (odd years) or 24 August (odd years).

Municipality Čavle has ten areas: Čavle, Buzdohanj, Cernik, Grobnik, Ilovik Mavrinci, Podčudnič, Podrvanj, Soboli and Zastenice.
